π Carmichael Ford Aussie Hoops – Your Child’s First Step towards Competitive Basketball
Carmichael Ford Aussie Hoops is Townsville Basketball Inc’s (TBI) introductory program for children aged 5 to 12 years, designed to spark a love for basketball through fun, engaging and age-appropriate sessions.
Throughout the program, kids learn core skills and game basics through modified drills and exciting gameplay. For older beginners aged 8 to 12, still sitting under the Aussie Hoops umbrella is Mini Hoops - available during Term 1 and Term 3. This extension program builds game awareness and prepares kids for competitive team play. Coaches are hands-on and pause the game to introduce key teaching moments — making learning active and intuitive.
Aussie Hoops sessions are led by elite coaches and players with backgrounds including NBL1, Junior Australian, State and Townsville- representative level teams. All coaches aim to ensure participants get the most out of every session.
